Let it Ride Poker

Are you ready to move on from the boring slots.com games and start gambling for real. If you want to regain some control of how much you’ve already placed in the pot, and you’re looking for it in a poker game, some would argue Let it Ride affords you the ability to do just that – remove bets from the middle depending on the current strength of your hand. Of course, there’s much more to the game than just that, so let’s take a look.

Let it Ride is a poker themed game found in most casinos throughout the United States. The object is to beat a pair of tens…at least. You have to make a poker hand that ranks equal to or higher than this amount in order to win any money. Throughout the game, if you don’t think your hand is gonna quick have what it takes to get you there, you can take bets back. If you do, you can…wait for it…. “let it ride!”

The rules: Players start by offering a trio of bets, all of the same amount. After they’ve been placed, each player receives three cards, hidden. Two hidden community cards are also placed on the table.

After you see your part of the hand, you can take back one of your three bets if you like.

The PartyPoker.com dealer then turns the first community card. Once gain, players face the same choice as before, remove a bet or let it ride. Important to note here, you don’t have to follow any pattern. If you removed before, you can still do whatever you want the second time. There’s no correlation between rounds.

Now dealer flips the last community card. At this point, your bet is your bet, and your winning is determined solely on the strength of your hand. You don’t play against any dealer hand in this game.

Strategy, like in any other game, is involved, and something I’ll go into at a later date in more detail.

Payouts, what everyone wants to know. How much can I win on Titan Poker playing let it ride? There is a commonly accepted standard for most casinos, although some might differ slightly depending on where you play.

The odds are a bit better than Caribbean Stud once you get above the three of a kind barrier. A Pair tens or better is 1:1. Two pair is 2:1. Three of a kind is 3:1. A straight jumps you to 5:1, flush is at 8:1, full house is at 11:1…all the way up to a Royal Flush at a cool 1,000:1.

My advice here. If you’re not the most patient of absolute poker players when it comes to action, I’d skip this game. Unless you pull multiple upper-echelon hands in the same sitting, it’s going to be tough to swing the chip count wildly in your favor over a short period of time. It’s a fun game, doesn’t require as much strategy, reading or decision making as other poker games, but you can still lose a nice chunk of change if you make the wrong calls repeatedly while sitting on a cold run of cards.

Picking a Blackjack Table

The basics of blackjack online are pretty standard…six deck shoes, half a percent advantage in favor of the casino, typical payout for a blackjack…you all know the drill. So how do you pick a table? Good advice, choose smart. Don’t be sucked in to lower deck enticements that sound good. The truth is, underneath the two-deck sexy appearance lies different rules that’ll skew the odds against you – even to the point of stacking them 0.75% in the house’s favor.

Of course, if you’re a poor player, it won’t make that much of a difference, mostly because you’ll be sacrificing multiple percentage points simply by the choices that you make at the table. However, if you study up and know what you’re doing, picking the correct table can greatly benefit you.

How do the blackjack rules differ? Many different ways. What’s the soft 17 rule? What’s the double down rule? How many decks are we talking about? What’s the re-split situation after a double down?

That 0.5% I cited is generally accepted as the standard house advantage, but the truth is, depending on the rules that can vary a quarter percentage point in either direction. Usually, one rule variation here or there will only sway the percentages a slight amount, but as they stack up, it can make a difference. And if you’re talking play over many hours or days, you could be talking about hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars.

Tip: Be wary of lower deck online casino gambling games. Two-deck or even one-deck games often come with 6:% blackjack odds, limits on double downs (usually just to 10 or 11), and the dealer will usually hit on soft 17…these hurt your odds as a player. You might think you’ve struck gold by happening upon a two-deck game, but the truth is you get what you pay for in everything.

The best place to play blackjack, believe it or not, is in Vegas. You’ll find big name casinos that offer lower-deck options with typical higher deck rules, minimizing the dealer odds, and making it worth your while to order a few vodkas and park yourself in for the night.

But know the rules before you sit down at a casino com website, and know what you’re supposed to do in each situation. That should be the first thing you need to do if you care about the odds you face at each table.

PokerStars Etiquette

Part of playing poker on PokerStars is to be able to win graciously and lose graciously and if you can’t do that then you aren’t going to make many friends at the poker tables. Now I know you’re not there to make friends, but you also don’t want to make any enemies at your local poker club or casino because once you gain a reputation it usually will stick with you for a long time. We’re going to look at some simple poker etiquette which you should make sure you follow to the best of your abilities.

* If you beat someone and knock them out of the game don’t get in there face about the hand and just wait until they leave the card room to make your remarks. It’s bad enough going bust in a poker game and having to take the walk of shame, but it’s even worse when you have the Poker Stars player who busted you trying to teach you or laugh at you for making the play you made. You wouldn’t like it if someone did it to you when you go bust and trust me you’ll have your time so treat others as you want to be treated at you’ll be fine.

* The dealers only do there job and there job is to make sure the cards are getting shuffled and the cards are being dealt. They don’t have any say about the hand and they definitely don’t have any influence on the hands being dealt so don’t take your frustrations out on the dealer when you’re playing. They don’t make enough money to deal with flack from losing poker players and most casinos won’t tolerate any player treating a dealer wrong.

* Players are sitting at the PokerStar.it table to play poker and not to listen to you preach your lessons of how to play every hand so keep your thoughts to yourself. You don’t need to try and teach anyone how to play because if they’re sitting at the table with there own money at risk I’m sure they already know what they’re doing.

* If you’re playing in an English casino then you need to only speak English at the table and anything else won’t be tolerated. It’s unfair to other players if you speak a foreign language at the table because you could be cheating with your friends and saying what hand you have.

* When you’re winning hands on PokerStars.ru you should tip the dealer $1 from every pot over $20+ because that’s what they rely on to pay the bills. There the ones making the poker game possible so if you’re winning they tip the dealer. You’ll also notice when problems arise at the table if you’ve been tipping the dealer he’ll end up on your side nine times out of ten when he can.

If you follow these simple etiquette tips when you’re playing poker then you’ll ensure you and everyone else at your table is having a good time. You don’t want to play poker and not have fun because you’re getting mixed up in the things you shouldn’t be so keep your nose out of others business and just focus on having some fun.

NBA Marquee Betting Matchups

Are you tired of snooker betting? Tired of soccer betting and baseball betting, then it’s time to check out this coming Wednesday’s Eastern Conference powerhouse collision. OK, that might be stretching it as far as the teams go, since it’s Boston vs. Miami and only one of them is an Eastern Conference powerhouse, but while the Celtics continue to soar high with a cast of stars, the Heat have their own star who’s been tearing it up more than anyone in the league of late in Dwyane Wade. Yes, that includes LeBron and Kobe. I think you’ll see a tight line in favor of the Celtics, but I’d recommend strongly considering taking Miami straight up here. Wade will continue to propel this team down the stretch. They’re playing well and winning games. This easily could be an upset in favor of the Heat.

On Sunday, March 15, we’ve got a great basketball betting opportunity with Dallas at Los Angeles. Recently, owner Mark Cuban voiced his disappointment with his teams play of late (or this year as a whole), but don’t expect that to fire the team up enough to convert raw emotion into that many w’s. I think it’s safe to say we’ll see a double-digit line in favor of the Lakers, and I’d still be comfortable taking Kobe’s boys in a blowout. The Mavs are headed in the opposite direction, they know they don’t have a chance this year and are just waiting for Cuban’s other shoe to drop. What a sorry state of affairs for mega stars Dirk and Kidd. These guys deserve better. The Lakers, on the other hand, recently lost their final hopes of tying the Bulls 72-10 record (yeah, right) but every team has a couple valleys during the year. Rest assured, they will be the team to beat out West come playoff time, even if my pick is still the Spurs to get to the Finals.

And, get ready for the sports gambling season clash of the titans on March 17, when the Magic visit the Cavs. I’m still not sold on Cleveland’s depth, but seeing as it hasn’t seemed to handicap them too much this season so far, I’m teetering on the brink of changing my view on the Celtics making it to the Finals. I think we’ll see a LeBron explosion come playoff time, perhaps equaling anything you’ve seen from Jordan throughout the years. But as for this game, expect a 5-6 point line in favor of the Cavs. It’d be a close call without the line on neutral ground, but with this game in Cleveland, I’d take the Cavs with any line lower than 7. That home record is one they might actually set. Nobody’s really threatened since the Bulls in 1995 (thanks again Hue Hollins).
